Get ready to Fuel Your Creative Rebellion
& Break the Chains of Burnout

hey what’s up hello
I'm Shamia.

If you’re an artist or creative entrepreneur, you’re in the right place. I exist to show you just how powerful and transformative your creativity can be.

I’m like if Batman actually came from poverty and grew up to genuinely help the citizens of Gotham instead of instilling within them the fear of darkness and shadows.

I’m like Harleen Quinzel if she never met the Joker and instead fell in love with her generous college sweetheart and went on to empower others in shockingly unique and creative ways.

As a 1/3 Mani Gen with a Gemini Mercury + Venus, I've done a bunch of random dope shit in my life and career:

Writer for BossBabe.com (among others),
Marketing Manager at a non-profit tech org
Pexels Hero and had my photography surpass 100M views, 250k+ downloads and 36k+ features across the internet,
Shot behind-the-scenes footage at the Meta HQ for a Juneteenth event,
Modeled + interviewed for Cosmopolitan magazine,
Graduated from General Assembly NYC’s Accelerated UX Design program,
Designed + managed adult entertainment websites
- just to name a few.

So take a look around, chill a bit and join a creative journey of Magic, Mischief, and Masterpieces. I’m honored to help fuel your creative rebellion so you can break the chains of burnout and take your power back.

Being orphaned by cancer and growing up in the hood in poverty once felt like carrying a scarlet letter, a symbol of shame and guilt. But now, I proudly wear it like a Superhero Insignia.

And I can proudly say I’m the first in my family to conquer certain milestones – high school and college graduation, passport ownership, marriage, and starting my own business.

As a creative entrepreneur since my blogging days in 2013, I've helped my readers and fellow entrepreneurs navigate the complexities of love, business, and life — DIY-ing every step due to the lack of examples around me.

Thanks to my graphic design roots as a role-player on Charmed Boards (rip Doherty!) and Buffy-related forums in my teens, I felt confident in designing my own branding and website.

That journey reignited my passion for design, led me to question the diversity in stock photography, and thusly, birthed my artistic adventures as a Pexels Hero, boasting 101+ million views on Pexels.com and featured on 36,000+ websites around the world.

Not too bad for a hood orphan. :)

Becoming an entrepreneur sparked a transformative shift in my life and creativity: it rekindled my love for design, prompted a quest for diversity in stock photography, and granted me a freedom I hadn't ever experienced as an actress (I hold a BA in Theatre with an Acting concentration and a Film minor).

This journey took a toll, tho. A near-death experience forced a reassessment of my relentless HUSTLE.AND.GRIND. lifestyle.

(I hate that shit now, thanks!)

Then, cue my brother being imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit AND a pandemic - prompting a relocation, taking on a contract job out of my comfort zone, and a renewed commitment to health, wellness, and creativity.

Needless to say - 2023 brought a year-long sabbatical from my business and social media, a consistent Pilates practice + stretching routine, painting as art therapy, and rediscovering old passions like baseball, poetry writing, and cooking. New loves emerged – Formula 1, crafts and home DIYs. Daily journaling, discovering my diverse ancestry, and reinstating my bone marrow donor status followed - along with evolving social circles.

Now, as a retired actress and traumatized former girl boss navigating aging and grief, I prioritize creativity and intention over burnout.

I want that for you, too. So stick around, and allow me to show you what’s possible in this life for talented artists and creatives like us! 🚀✨
